Patients exhibit and express themselves with behaviors for numerous reasons. It can be a form of communication that the interdisciplinary team, including therapists, need to understand. This presentation will explore what behaviors that are exhibited can be telling us. Actual case studies will showcase how interventions discovered and implemented by therapists offer successful solutions. The discussion will include how therapy is able to be problem solver and work with nursing on realistic solutions.

1. Identify reasons that therapy referral can be made for behavioral interventions
2. Identify quality measures affected by behaviors
3. Be exposed to actual case studies with successful behavior reduction techniques

Lynne Bailey, MS, OTR/L, a 1994 graduate of D?Youville College in Buffalo, began her career with acute care rehabilitation including diagnoses of TBI, stroke, amputation, ortho patients, and specialized in driving. She transitioned to an outpatient clinic with focus on pediatrics and hand rehabilitation. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2002. Since then she worked as a working manager in OP/hospital setting and a SNF/LTACH/OP facility. She has recently become certified in LSVT BIG therapy. Lynne presently serves as a Regional Director for Absolute Rehabilitation and Consulting where she began as a rehab manager in 2008. She continues to be an advocate for the need for rehabilitation services and is responsible for the northwestern region rehabilitation operations for Absolute Rehab.
Each program is approved for one (1.0) hour of credit for Nurses, NHA, Certified Executives for Assisted Living (CEAL), and Certified Executives for Home Care & Hospice (CEHCH).

Credit for Therapists is pending.

Individual attendance will be monitored throughout the call. Only those attending the entire call will be awarded continuing education credit. All participants regardless of need for CEUs, will receive a certificate of attendance. This course is considered a self-study course by Ohio BELTSS. Administrators are reminded that BELTSS limits webinars (home/self-study) credits to a total of ten (10.0) per renewal period.

How much does it cost?

Facilities will pay one low fee for an unlimited number of participants. However, the number and access code is valid only for one phone line/computer at the location registered with the Association. Any additional phone connections calling in will be billed the individual session registration fee.
