Claire Turcotte, a partner in Bricker & Eckler?s Health law group, focuses her practice on structuring, drafting and negotiating health care provider contracts, including hospital affiliations, mergers and acquisitions, co-management , joint ventures, management services organizations (MSOs), call coverage, physician recruitment, physician employment agreements and professional services arrangements, and other hospital-physician arrangements. She also advises hospitals about accountable care organizations (ACOs), clinically integrated networks (CINs) and similar evolving models.
Claire counsels hospitals and health care providers on the Stark Law, the anti-kickback statute, and other fraud and abuse matters, as well as other Medicare and Medicaid regulatory issues, including provider-based status and hospital space sharing arrangements, change of ownership, Medicare enrollment and physician supervision.
She also focuses on corporate structuring and maintenance, including formation and choice of entity, governance structure, nonprofit and tax exempt status issues, conflicts of interest, and other taxation and governance issues.
Additionally, Claire?s practice includes preparing and negotiating information technology (IT) and other technology contracts, such as electronic health records (EHR) system agreements and hospital EHR donation arrangements, and she counsels clients regarding compliance with Meaningful Use Incentive and PQRS programs, as well as HIPAA, EHR implementation and other health information matters

Individual attendance will be monitored throughout the call. Only those attending the entire call will be awarded continuing education credit. All participants regardless of need for CEUs, will receive a certificate of attendance. This course is considered a self-study course by Ohio BELTSS. Administrators are reminded that BELTSS limits webinars (home/self-study) credits to a total of ten (10.0) per renewal period.


How much does it cost?

Facilities will pay one low fee for an unlimited number of participants. However, the number and access code is valid only for one phone line/computer at the location registered with the Association. Any additional phone connections calling in will be billed the individual session registration fee.
