* $129.00++ per room, up to 4 guests, includes water park admission for the duration of stay and resort fees are waived
* A limited number of rooms have been blocked at the OHCA rate. The hotel may have additional rooms available once all of the OHCA rooms are gone, but they may not be at the special rate, even if you contact them prior to the cut off date. It is unlikely that they will be able to extend the cutoff date of October 31 due to the busy nature of their hotel and since rooms go quickly, there may not be any available rooms left at that point.

Each participant is responsible for his/her own lodging. We encourage you to make your hotel reservations as early as possible.

9:00 am - Waivers, Critical Access, and NextGen MyCare Ohio: What They Mean for Assisted Living

In this opening session, OHCA Strategy Director Erin Hart will bring the day's discussions together with a focus on waivers, critical access, and the upcoming transition to NextGen MyCare Ohio. Erin will explain the latest policy developments and what the shift to NextGen means for Assisted Living Waiver providers across the state, including implications for contracting, reimbursement, and resident choice during open enrollment. Attendees will gain practical insight into how these changes intersect with broader waiver and access issues, leaving with a clear understanding of where policy is headed and how to strategically position their communities for success in an evolving regulatory and funding environment.

10:30 am 'Straight from the State' - ODH, ODA, Area Agency on Aging, Board of Nursing
Hear directly from state leaders on the issues most impacting assisted living providers today. This panel discussion will feature representatives from the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Department of Aging, Area Agency on Aging, and the Ohio Board of Nursing. Panelists will share current priorities, regulatory updates, and initiatives affecting the field, followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and engage in dialogue.

Join OHCA Regulatory Director Tammy Cassidy for an in-depth look at the latest survey and regulatory developments shaping assisted living in Ohio. Building on the priorities shared during the State Agency Panel, Tammy will provide insight into what these updates mean for providers and how to translate them into day-to-day operations. This session will highlight compliance trends, common survey challenges, and practical strategies to strengthen your community's readiness. Attendees will gain clarity on current expectations and leave with actionable steps to support quality care and regulatory success.

3:00 pm - Reigniting Joy: Creative and Compassionate Engagement for People Living with Dementia
This interactive session will explore how small, creative shifts in daily routines can profoundly reduce isolation and reignite joy for people living with dementia. Drawing from 20 years of hands-on experience and her ?Caregiver Boot Camp? and ?Bringing Joy Every Day? frameworks, Joanna LaFleur will share practical, dementia-friendly approaches that transform care from task-based to connection-centered. Attendees will leave with adaptable, low-cost strategies to spark memory recall, encourage communication, and create moments of genuine meaning for residents, families, and care teams.

Nicole Butcher serves as Executive Director of an assisted living and memory care community, where she is passionate about supporting residents, families, and staff. With a deep sense of purpose, she views her work as more than a career?it?s a calling to create meaningful moments for those she serves. Outside of her professional role, Nicole enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and three children?a 24-year-old daughter, a 19-year-old daughter, and a 4-year-old son. Her family especially loves camping in the summer and making memories outdoors. Having grown up alongside the rise of technology, Nicole blends traditional values with modern tools, bringing both compassion and innovation to her leadership and her presentations.

Teresa Remy, MHA, LNHA, BSN, RN, SMQT, QCP, CDP, ICPO has over 35 years of experience working in healthcare. Her areas of expertise include the entire continuum of care from Acute Care to every aspect of Post-Acute Care such as Sub-acute, Skilled Nursing, Residential Care/Assisted Living, Home Care, Hospice/Palliative Care and Private Duty. Teresa has also been a Healthcare Facilities Surveyor, therefore, her focus on the importance of regulations and quality, combined with her years of experience, enable Teresa to use her expertise and talent to assist others in achieving excellence. Teresa prides herself on partnering with Assisted Living Communities to balance the importance of residents living their best life in the Assisted Living Communities and to enhance the Assisted Living Community on their quality journey. Teresa serves as a Board Member on the Ohio Board of Nursing and on the Board of Trustees for The Area Agency on Aging.
