From organizing daily workflow and mastering survey readiness to documentation oversight, QAPI, adverse event practices, MDS accuracy, personnel management, and leadership accountability?this series empowers leaders to successfully guide nursing departments that are both resident-centered and survey-ready every day.


Target Audience:
New or experienced Directors of Nursing (DONs), Assistant DONs, charge nurses, unit managers, nurses aspiring to become permanent or interim DONs, as well as Administrators and Corporate Clinical Leaders.




January 20 - The Daily DON: Organizing Your Time, Tasks, and Team
Overview daily responsibilities and expectations, and examine successful strategies for delegation of nursing department duties that represent a day in the life of an effective DON.

February 17 - Daily Compliance Practices that Lead to Survey Success
Focus on key components for being survey ready every day. Review tools and resources for survey readiness, staff training priorities, and health inspection implementation strategies with case examples.

March 17 - Effective Systems for Adverse Events and Reportable Occurrences
Learn how to strengthen practices and documentation to promote resident safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.

April 21 - Managing Discharges Against Medical Advice (AMA)
Verify your facility has all of the required components in place to address discharge regulations pertaining to residents who leave Against Medical Advice (AMA).

May 19 - IP Leadership Oversight Strategies for Compliance and Performance
Explore how facility and corporate nursing leaders can maintain a robust IPC program that meets regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of safety and accountability.

June 16 - Leadership Lessons: Coaching, Accountability, and Building Strong Teams
Focus on critical leadership lessons for how to be successful in coaching staff, holding staff accountable, and building strong teams that effectively achieve facility goals.

July 21 - Personnel Management
This session will guide nursing leaders through the essential components of human resources for the nursing department including best practices for hiring, staff engagement, coaching, and taking disciplinary actions.

August 18 - QAPI in Action: Building a Sustainable Quality Culture in SNFs
Learn how skilled nursing facilities can develop and sustain a robust quality assurance and performance improvement program to drive meaningful improvement in resident outcomes.

September 15 - Understanding the MDS
Discover key MDS components, how they connect to nursing documentation, and what DONs should monitor to ensure accuracy and compliance.

October 20 - Effective Rounding for the Interdisciplinary Team
This session will provide strategies for team development, roles and responsibilities, structured communication and documentation for enhancement of IDT rounding processes.

November 17 - Avoiding the Top Clinical Deficiencies in Nursing
Review the most recent top clinical deficiencies, including actual 2567 deficiency examples, as well as strategies for best practices to avoid these citations.

December 15 - Documentation Excellence for the DON
Explore the DON?s role in guiding interdisciplinary documentation practices, supporting accurate MDS assessments, and mitigating risk through effective monitoring systems.
